BUILD LOW-TO-MID-FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

Get your hands on the basics of Figma, like shapes and frames, to build modern interface patterns, then add interaction to your interface to produce a clickable wireframe.

ADVANCE DESIGN CONCEPTS TO CREATE HIGH-FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

Apply a design concept to your existing mid-fidelity wireframe using tools like images, color, and typeface to produce a clickable prototype for design usability testing.

Workshop Agenda

Learn why Figma is the top tool for UX and UI design in every aspect of the design process, and get familiar with the basics of Figma’s interface.
Kind of like recess — for adults. Once you’re comfortable navigating the Figma tool, you’ll learn and get some “play time” to practice the basics of low-fidelity wireframes like LogoMark, colors, type styles, and buttons. This is also a time to experiment and really start to get comfortable working in Figma.
Now it’s time to put all the basics together to make it look like an actual web app. You’ll learn to create elements like tables, navigation bars, and toggle switches, adding interactivity to your interface. Congratulations, your low-fidelity design has just graduated to mid-fidelity.
Here’s where you’ll learn how to make your mid-fidelity wireframe look like an app. Bring it to life by adding colors, typeface, and images so your clickable prototype is ready to move forward for usability testing.

About the INSTRUCTOR

Brittney Posternock (BP) is a UX Facilitator. She has lead 50+ workshops and research projects at organizations like International Youth Foundation, World Bank, MicroStrategy, International Monetary 足球竞彩网, Capital One and is a board member at Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation. She recently spent 10 weeks in Saudia Arabia teaching UX in partnership with 足球竞彩网 Assembly and MiSK Academy.

We get it, sometimes life gets in the way. If you¡¯re unable to attend a workshop you signed up for, let us know at least a week before the start date and you¡¯ll get a full refund. If you need to cancel within one week of the workshop, you¡¯ll be eligible for a credit to transfer to the next session. Reach out to help@ga.co if you need to cancel or reschedule a workshop.
Look out for an email one day before, and one hour before the workshop with the Zoom link and workshop materials. If you don¡¯t see the email, check your spam folder or reach out to help@generalassemb.ly and we¡¯ll make sure you¡¯re set up.
Our workshops are split into two evening sessions that are each three hours long. Workshops typically take place on a Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday, from 3–6 p.m. PT/6–9 p.m. ET.
Don’t worry, we know life can be hectic — and unpredictable. If you can only make one session, you'll still have access to the recordings for the entire workshop that you can reference at any time.
You bet ¡ª we want you to continue practicing and referencing the things you learned long after your workshop ends. You should receive the recording and any in-class materials within one week of your workshop via email.
We don¡¯t think access to education (especially education you¡¯ve paid for) should ever be cut off, so all of our workshop recordings are available indefinitely ¡ª you can revisit the content as often as you want, for as long as you need.
YES. We love this for you. If you enroll in a short course within six months, or a bootcamp within one year of your workshop, you can apply what you paid for the workshop toward your course. Talk to an admissions specialist to learn more about this ¡ª no strings attached.
Think of free classes as the ¡°sample spoon.¡± No cost, no commitment, and you can try as many flavors as you want. Free classes are two hours long and hosted in a Zoom webinar where participant audio/video is automatically off, and interaction is contained within Zoom chat and Q&A functions. Workshops, on the other hand, are more like the ¡°single scoop.¡± It costs a little, but you get a lot more. Workshops are six hours of live instruction hosted in a Zoom meeting room where participants can share audio/video and interact live with instructors and classmates.

We understand that, sometimes, plans change. If you can no longer make it to a class or workshop, please email us at least 7 days before the scheduled event date. No refunds will be given to cancellations made within a week of the class or workshop.
