About the Instructor
Charis Loveland
Global Program Manager of EPIC Emotional Intelligence, Amazon Web Services
Charis joined AWS in 2019 leading AI/ML strategy for the Cloud Intelligence team. She now works full time as the global program manager for the EPIC emotional intelligence program. Before joining Amazon, Charis worked independently in AI product strategy and taught data science for MIT, Columbia, and Dartmouth, as well as product management, agile, metrics, and communication for 足球竞彩网 Assembly. Prior to that, Charis founded Rue La La’s data science team. At Microsoft, she launched a global crowdsourcing platform for data scientists and previously led technical projects at EMC and SAP. She began her career as an editor teaching people how to use SAP software, and has been translating technology to business stakeholders ever since. She is an Emotional Intelligence evangelist, IDE ambassador, Class Chat coach, and Hour of Code organizer. Charis lives in the New England woods and has a 14 year old daughter and 2 cats. She loves to travel, read, practice yoga and mindfulness, and share transformational tips to inspire colleagues on their EQ journey.
Emre Surmeli

Emre is a software developer, a blockchain technology consultant, and an educator. Having gone through a full stack JavaScript boot camp in Seattle in 2015, he's passionate about accelerated learning programs and loves to take as well as teach them. Shortly after finishing his boot camp he worked at a tech startup building apps using node.js, Ruby/Rails, and AWS until October of 2018 when he decided to quit and try out digital nomad'ing in Central America. He was introduced to Ethereum by his co-worker in late 2016, since then he spent most of his free time learning and researching about blockchain technologies and how to develop them. In the excitement of quickly realizing the imperative and inevitable role of blockchain in advancing specific technologies, he developed a blockchain workshop for GA. Emre has been combining his experience in web development and understanding of blockchain technologies to helping companies build blockchain applications.
