Walt Disney 足球竞彩网, one the world’s most innovative media companies, started a program that transitioned 20 employees into software engineers.
Disney wanted to increase diversity in its technology organization while also adequately filling key software engineering roles.
We joined forces with Disney to launch Creating Opportunities for Diverse Engineers (CODE): Rosie, a best-of-the-best reskilling program for non-technical women employees. We interviewed hundreds of applicants, yet only the top candidates went through our rigorous software engineering program at Disney’s Burbank campus.
“When you do something authentically, for the right reasons, that is maybe a little different from the way we’ve tried things before, it tends to have these ripple effects in the organization. And that’s what I’ve really loved about the [CODE: Rosie] program.”
We partnered with Guardian and Humana to help upskill high-potential employees into high-impact tech roles.
Demand for technology workers remains on the rise, but several groups — including People of Color, LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, women, and older workers – remain chronically underrepresented in today's burgeoning sector.
Our first multi-enterprise CODE for Good cohort brought together underrepresented groups from Guardian and Humana for a full-time, fully remote Software Engineering Immersive (SEI) program that transformed non-tech workers into full-stack engineers. Guardian and Humana are savvy enterprise partners and admirable examples of investing in team diversity at this critical time — while facing digital acceleration head-on. After three months of training, students graduated with critical programming and technical problem-solving skills, plus hands-on experience with languages, frameworks, and libraries based on employer demand. Bonus: we received a perfect satisfaction score from participants.
“An important element of Humana's culture is supporting our employees to fully use the skills they have today while investing in their growth by preparing them with the skills of tomorrow. By encouraging women, People of Color, and other underrepresented groups to enhance their employability in these needed and relevant areas, we are not only elevating our own talent pipeline, but we are building a community workforce ready for the future.”
